The Rickmer Rickmers is one of the most extraordinary locations of the Hanseatic city.

Continue your maritime adventure in the port of Hamburg! The three-masted, steel freight sailing ship was previously launched in 1896 at the shipyard of the Bremerhaven. The shipping company was Rickmer C. Rickmers. However, it was acquired by the Hamburg shipping company Krabbenhöft in 1912 until it was confiscated by the Portuguese Navy in 1916 and served as a Portuguese naval training ship until 1962.

After extensive renovation work, it has been located at the Landungsbrücken since 1983 and is considered one of Hamburg’s most spectacular museums and a great location for events. The built freight sailing ship is also Hamburg’s floating landmark in the Hanseatic city and is the pride of the Rickmer Rickmers Foundation, which operates and maintains the museum ship without public subsidies.

The ship has an area of 3,500 m², is 97 m long and 12. 20 m wide. In addition, the draught is max. 6 m and the measurement of the cargo ship is 2,007 gross register tons.
